Zainteresowania naukowe:

Optoelektronika i fotonika - w szczególności technika laserowa.

 

Prof. dr hab. inż. Krzysztof M. Abramski – stopień doktora nauk technicznych, doktora habilitowanego oraz tytuł profesora uzyskał odpowiednio w 1979, 1993 i 2002 roku. Jest ekspertem z zakresu szeroko rozumianej fotoniki. Zrealizował szereg pionierskich i przełomowych prac badawczych w zakresie stabilizacji laserów gazowych oraz laserów CO2 wzbudzanych w.cz.: falowodowe, macierzowe i tzw. „slaby” (obecnie powszechnie stosowane w przemyśle). Jest inicjatorem powstania Grupy Elektroniki Laserowej i Światłowodowej na Politechnice Wrocławskiej, która pod jego kierownictwem realizuje prace badawcze w zakresie techniki światłowodowej (lasery i wzmacniacze), generacji ultrakrótkich impulsów, mikrolaserów ciała stałego do zastosowań w metrologii, wibrometrii i mikroobróbki laserowej. Odbył staże naukowe w Twente University of Technology, Hull University i Heriot-Watt University. Jest autorem i współautorem ponad 100 prac indeksowanych w JCR cytowanych ponad 3000 razy oraz ponad 20 patentów. Wypromował 21 doktorów. Jest inicjatorem anglojęzycznych specjalności na Wydziale Elektroniki PWr: Electronic and Computer Engineering (studia inżynierskie), Advanced Applied Electronics (studia magisterskie).

1971 – MSc (Acoustooptic modulation of laser beams), Electronics Department, Wroclaw University of Technology, Poland

1979 – PhD, Institute of Telecommunication and Acoustics, Wroclaw University of Technology, Poland, (Laser frequency stabilisation by saturated absorption in He-Ne/CH4 3.39mm laser).

1993 – DSc (Methods of analysis, control and locking of laser frequencies) in laser technology and quantum electronics,

1996 – professorship in Lasers and Optoelectronics at Electronics Department, Wroclaw University of Technology, Poland

2002 – full professor

2007 – visiting Professor of School of Engineering and Physical Sciences Heriot Watt University

2018 – Professor Emeritus on part-time employment

 

Employment:

from 1971 – employed  as an academic teacher in the Institute of Telecommunications and Acoustics , Wroclaw University of Technology, Poland.

1983-1984 – one year research fellowship in the Quantum Electronics group (lead by prof. Witteman), Department of Applied Physics, Twente University of Technology, the Netherlands.

1987 – a half year of Visiting Scientist at the Department of Applied Physics, Hull University, Hull, England

1988-1992  – four and half year Research Fellowship at Optoelectronics and Laser Engineering group (lead by prof. Denis.R.Hall), Physics Department,  Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, Scotland

1992 – up till now Wroclaw University of Science and Technology

1984-1984    High power excimer lasers, optogalvanic effects in gas lasers,

1984-1986    He-Ne Zeemean laser, RF excited CO2 waveguide lasers,

1987              RF excited multiwaveguide CO2 lasers,

1988-1992   RF excited multiwaveguide, slab-waveguide molecular lasers, phase locking of multiwaveguide lasers, mode selection, unstable resonators for slab lasers

– New resonators for RF excited slab lasers,

– Laser fiber heterodyne interferometry, fibre heterodyne sensing.

From 1997 Organising of new teaching and research laser and fiber laboratory at Wroclaw  University of Technology: Fiber amplifiers and fiber lasers,  wavelength control of fiber lasers, spectral analysis of solid state diode pumped lasers, fiber amplifiers, application of laser/fiber  heterodyne systems for sensometry (vibrometry, interferometry), frequency stabilisation of microchip laser Nd:YVO4/KTP 532nm, Erbium doped fs pulse fiber lasers, optical frequency combs, frequency stabilization of opical combs, laser-fiber heterodyne vibrometry, laser micromachining, laser gas sensing.

 

Teaching: Lectures and classes;

Electricity and Magnetism, Theory of Electromagnetic Fields, Laser Physics and Technologyy, Opto-communications, WDM Technique,

His main academic idea is teaching by research. From 1993 he was the supervisor of 21 PhD students, about 40 MSc projects. About his 20  MSc students work abroad (U.K., Germany, USA, Austria, Italy, Japan, including Krzysztof Nowak).

In 2001 the Department of Electronics at Wroclaw University of Technology he organised very popular among students the MSc specialisation - “Optic Communications” (MSc level), in 2011, English MSc specialisation – “Advanced Applied Electronics” (MSc level) and in 20015 very popular English  – “Electronic and Computer Engineering” (engineering level).
